Assault Backpack

Today we have another debut here at Airsoft Portugal. And from the image you already know what it is. With the support from our new friends from 365+ Tactical that we're going to show you the Assault Backpack. Follow us in this review and see this example of quality this brand has to offer for yourself.

365+ Tactical is a brand from Slovenia that produces and distributes a wide range of tactical gear. Using the slogan "Wear, Protect, Be Safe" the brand builds gear with high quality and a design that adapts to the modern world of police and military forces. It's important to mention that the brand doesn't produce gear essentially focused on Airsoft, aiming to military and police forces.
In the 365+ website we can find several entities that have the brand as a reference, just like the variety of equipment available, namely vests (tactical or ballistic), flashlights, optics, pouches, backpacks (like the one that we are reviewing here today), along with many other products.
Today we are reviewing one of the awesome backpack models available in the brand, the Assault Backpack.
In the last few months we were able to test out this Assault Backpack. And right from the start, it was possible to notice that this is is a military grade backpack, ready for demanding activities that can wear out the lesser gear we can find in the market. The material used, like the seams, the details and robustness that it offers are highlights.
The first aspect that stands out is the shade of Olive Drab. It's not a light OD that we can see in several backpacks out there, even comparing with some backpack patterns and colors that we have seen in the Airsoft world. It's a darker OD shade, that we usually call "military green". Like we can see in the photo, the color adapts quite well to the uniforms with green patterns and even to the woodland colors in our country.
In the upper back part we have a velcro section where we can add our patches. In addition to the velcros, this area is built with the MOLLE system. So, we can add more pouches instead of the patches, if we wish. In the same area we have a pocket with a zipper, where we can place several items for quick access.
Before moving on to the interior of the backpack itself, I would like to mention the feature that I liked the most in this Assault Backpack and, quite possibly, its most important detail.
There are several events in which, apart from being almost mandatory the use a backpack to carry gear and equipment, the simple use of a sling to strap the gun is just not enough. I've been through some situations where it was necessary to overcome some complicated obstacles, and having the rifle hanging from the front only made matters worse.
Like we can see in the images, the backpack comes with two adjustable belts with straps that allow us to hold, among other objects, the gun itself. With the belts, the gun stays protected inside a proper area in the backpack. And there is even a pouch for the stock that can be stored when not in use. In other words, the gun stays well fixed and it's a process that can be done with some speed and ease. Specially if we ask a team member to do it for us.
This strapping functionality is also an excellent way to independently transport a Shotgun, Sniper Rifle or another secondary gun, having the primary gun on a sling. A simple suggestion.
The interior of the backpack is simple but offers what's necessary. We have a large compartment where we can carry a great quantity of gear, enough for an event with over 24h. There's also a netted pocket for quick access and a compartment for the hydration pouch ("camelback"). As we can see in the images, the interior comes with an admin pouch, that can be easily removed, since it's also strapped with velcros.
The backpack's inferior part (on the outside) has a detail that I also appreciated. To protect the equipment we carry inside when we place it on the ground, to avoid humidity or even wet zones, this area has a useful water-proof membrane. 
On the top and on both sides of the Assault Backpack we have flap protected holes for the camelback tube, as we can see in the photo. It's also noticeable that the surface of the backpack is built almost entirely with the MOLLE system straps. With this we can add even more pouches to accommodate our needs.
On the lower part of the backpack we have two  adjustable straps where we carry take various larger items, like a sleeping bag or even a small tent (depending on the shape).
Obviously, for larger events where sometimes it's necessary to carry additional equipment, comfort  is very important. The back of this backpack is well reinforced and cushioned. Even after carrying it for several hours I never felt any kind of discomfort, not even in the shoulders. Just like the back, the handles are also cushioned and are reasonably comfortable. It's important to mention that these handles are fully adjustable to the height of the user.   
To protect the back even more, the backpack has a compartment that holds a semi-rigid plate, that way nothing that we carry inside it can, somehow, deform the backpack or disturb while on the move. It's indeed a well thought detail, that's mostly present in climbing backpacks, and avoids problems with some objects with less conventional shapes inside.
In conclusion, I just want to highlight that the robustness of the backpack is unique, built with Nylon 1000D that we can be sure to endure a lot to even start showing wear and tear. And in all the tests performed, I must report that all seams are properly reinforced and I wasn't able to find any kind of seam our junction that looked weaker or poorly built. This is really important since a lot of the backpacks that I used, slowly started to rip, specially in the handles. It's clear that this backpack was designed thinking of demanding environments, unlike many that are "designed" for Airsoft, that too many times don't even last a single intensive game.

   Verdict


Knowing this backpack was built according with military demands, I was sure that I wouldn't be disappointed. This Assault Backpack surpassed any other backpack that I used until today. This is due to both the qualityof construction, because we are talking about a Nylon 1000D build, and the details I found while testing it.
This backpack is perfect for medium and long duration events, having enough space to carry the necessary equipment for that kind of events. And we can even add more items thanks to the MOLLE system. The straps to carry the gun are really secure and already helped in some complicated situations.
If all the 365+'s products follow this kind of quality, then you can be sure that you won't be disappointed. And, like it was mention in the review, I wasn't able to find a flaw. Maybe in the future, after some use. Until then, I have all the confidence in the Assault Backpack to carry my gear and even the gun itself.
