The magazine is well made and of good quality. There really is a problem with loading it with ammo by hand. Need a Mag Loader for faster and trouble-free charging. However, its reliability is not at the level expected. After firing 20-25 rounds, the magazine began to misfeed the ammunition. It make three times failure to feed until the magazine runs out of ammo. The bolt carrier jammed the cartridges without being able to feed them into the chamber.

We’ve all seen the drum magazines for the AK, the extended curved magazines that are so long that their bottom almost touches the barrel muzzle, and stood in awe at the guards in North Korea with the 150 round helical canisters in their AK. But all of those have some problems. They are too bulky, to heavy, either too wide or too long, and overall, they are old. Well, Schmeisser came up with an excellent solution to all of it.

A quad stack AK 7.62x39 magazine with a capacity of 60 rounds. Yes, that is right, a quad stacked AK 7.62x39 mag. It is not too wide, the same length as the original 30 round counterpart (which is not in the way when firing prone, laying down or behind an obstacle), and also not too heavy. Made from a reinforced Fiberglass Polymer, it is only 296 grams when empty. The total length is 260mm, and only 58mm wide, making it a very compact option at this capacity.
The magazine also has a few other, great features. The surface has a texture that makes it easy to grip, and the sides are windowed so you can see into the magazine and check if they are fully loaded. They are easy to disassemble and maintain, and no special tools are necessary for that. They are also easy and simple to put back together, with a special, patented spring system that makes them very reliable on top of it. The locking lugs are, of course, made with metal inserts to prevent them from breaking. Schmeisser magazines will work with any AK variant or clone, and will work with any rifle that accepts AK magazines. It will work flawlessly also in fully automatic mode in military weapons.
Overall this is a great, reliable and light magazine all-in-all, and they even come at a low price.
